ROYSTON – Elizabeth Irvin Griffin, 84, formerly of Homer, died Thursday, January 20, 2011.
Born on May 5, 1926, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late James and Ida Tanner Irvin. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Homer. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin D. Griffin; a son, James Ralph Griffin; and daughter, June Patton.
Survivors include a sister, Imogene Chambers, Homer; brothers, George Irvin, Roswell; and grandchildren, Beth Beasley, Homer, Payton Griffin, Demorest, and Greg Patton, Lavonia.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 23, at 3 p.m., at Whitfield Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at Bethany Christian Church at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., just prior to the funeral service, on Sunday, at the funeral home.
