A dust explosion at a Jefferson business sent one man with minor injuries to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The explosion occurred at DSM Nutritional Products, Inc., located at 495 Jackson Concord, Jefferson.
Officials ruled it a dust explosion and there were no flames. However, several large panels and one top story door were blown off and debris was scattered in an adjacent parking lot.
The injured man reportedly suffered abrasions, and was the only person on the level where the explosion originated. Several employees were outside in the parking lot at the time.
The Jefferson Fire Department, North Jackson Fire Department, Plainview Fire Department and the Jackson County Correction Institute responded to the call.
