The polls have now closed for Tuesday's general election — which includes a question on another round of Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) funding in Jackson County.
As of 10:35 p.m., with 16 of 16 precincts reporting, 56.8 percent of voters said "yes" to SPLOST, while 43.1 percent have said "no." However, that doesn't include more than 800 absentee ballots, which election workers at the Jackson County Courthouse are in the process of counting. Overall, more than 15,400 votes have been counted in the SPLOST vote.
