A town hall meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, in the Nicholson Community Center on the proposed special purpose local option sales tax.
Paying off existing debts, repairing roads and adding recreation facilities are among the plans for using revenue from the one-cent special purpose local option sales revenue that is being proposed in Jackson County. This issue will be on the ballot in the Nov. 2 election.
The county government, as well as each of the nine towns, would get a portion of the projected $47.5 million revenue over six years.
