Woman reports assault
A GILLSVILLE woman was assaulted last week when a man tried to force his way into her home, according to an incident report filed with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman, who lives on Holly Springs Road, said a man approached her door and said he had something he wanted to sell and asked to enter the home. She said when she refused, he tried to force himself inside and scratched her and tore her shirt.
She said she managed to get the door closed and he left in an older model small red car.
