The Jefferson Park and Recreation Department has named an interim director to serve until a the position is filled.
Colton Green is taking over the vacancy left after the resignation of Ben Dillard. Dillard served as Jefferson Rec.’s director for three years.
Green has been with the department for three years, the past two years serving as the athletics director.
"I'm looking forward to continuing the trend of positive leadership in Jefferson. Ben provided the entire department and staff with the vision required to administrate quality programming in a relaxed and family atmosphere,” Green said.
Green also commented that he is grateful to the city and is confident in his abilities to lead the department.
“This department is in good shape in regards to both staff and City support,” said Green. “I don't anticipate that there will be much noticeable difference to the public until the position is filled and any personnel additions take effect."
Green begins Wednesday, as the interim director.
