A robbery at a flea market near Nicholson and false imprisonment at a Talmo home are among the incidents reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office last week.
A vendor at the J&J Flea Market, located on Hwy. 441, reported that two men robbed him at his uncle’s coin and game shop. He said one man distracted him by shaking a game and then the other man grabbed his money apron. He said both men ran and he chased them.
The victim said the two men got into a car where a third man was sitting in the driver’s seat. He said he told them to give back the money and one of the men began punching at him through the back window. The victim said he then “threw some punches and struck one of them in the eye.” The man said the driver then began to drive off and he continued to chase them. They were able to get away. The three men left in a white, possibly 1990, Buick.
In the false imprisonment incident, a woman reported that her boyfriend would not let her leave their Talmo residence after they got into a fight. She said he held her down and sat on her on the couch. He eventually left the home and she called 911.
