Two young children reported missing from an Arcade home were found quickly.

A 9-year-old and 4-year-old were reported as being missing for 30 minutes on Wednesday, April 28, from a Trotters Ridge, Arcade, residence. The two were found almost one hour later in a yard two and a half miles from their home.

Units from the Arcade Police Department, Jefferson Police Department, Jackson County EMA, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol were called to the Arcade home after it was reported that the two young girls were missing. A search was conducted of the immediate area.

A call came in almost one hour after the search began from a woman who said two young girls were in her yard, 2.5 miles away from the area of the lost victims.

The two girls were returned home safely. The two were checked out by EMS and were in good condition.

My first question is How? How did 2 kids 9 and 4 years old get 2.5 miles away from their house in only 1 hour? Sounds to me like they had help?

well tj if the kids were supposed to be playing in their room the parents may have went to check on them and seen they were gone but without knowing the whole story I can't say.

Has the nine year old been able to tell how the two of them got to the house so far away? I'm really curious to know. Did someone stop and pick them up, etc,...

not really WOODY if you think the kids are in the house there's no real need to keep checking on them. As long as we were in the house my parents may come check on us every couple of hours.
My stepson has been in his room playing
x-box and we haven't seen or heard anything out of him for 5 hours at a time.

Well, good parenting/bad parenting who knows? I am glad the kids were found quickly and were okay. Great job to the people searching and the person that called it in.

You guys don't know I live around the area and this report is wrong, the mom fell asleep while the kids were playing in the yard and the kids left and were missing for almost over 4 hours so this "quick" find was really a long search. There were over 20 people on the search in the neighborhood. They need to report this right and not make it a quick fix.

Andrew- I'm sorry but we were led to believe that the kids were playing in the house and one minute they were there and the next they were gone? The Mom falling asleep wasn't included in the story. My first question is what Mother lets a 9 year old and a 4 year old play in the yard while they are not outside with the kids? AND the story says the kids were missing for 30 minutes. This proves you can't believe everything you read either. You think the newspaper would report the true story. The newspaper AIN'T no better than the TV news.

O.h.no Mike say it ain't so Could the Police really be wrong? HA HA I know the Police don't usually have the whole(true) story? They get a piece of the story and write their reports like they are writing a crime novel? And I know it's not the newspapers fault they have to write on the information they are given. So it all boils down to the POLICE give the wrong information to newspapers and TV reporters

You are such a liar, you don't have one part of the story right. The mother was not asleep and both parents were outside with the kids and there were well over 20 people looking for them no thanks to whoever you are but I can tell you one thing, your not part of the neighborhood in question or you would be telling the truth not drama. there can be a police report put up to make you look so stupid you would never open your lieing mouth again. The arcade police didn't even give them this info so now where did you get your info???

GaMommyOf3- I was going by what Andrew said in post #6. They said they live in the area so I guess they were not there either or they were not paying attention? I guess Andrew wants to make every Mother who is ever involved with the police for what ever reason look like a BAD MOTHER. Andrew must have some problems with Mothers in general? I know I wasn't there and not even in the same county so the first I heard about this was when I read the story in the paper and you think someone who lives in the area and was there would know what happen. I guess not.

Every part of the story and comments are wrong. The police didn't even give this report to the paper some nobody did, they found out by me telling them it was already on the internet the next day and they were surprised because they had just gotten the reports. The mother and father were both outside with the kids and the kids were playing in the trails behind the house as always when the 9yr old ran away from the grandmother who has a open case with defacts. They were gone for 15min when 911 was called,and there was a lot of people looking for them but they hid. Yes thank God they were found and safe. People need to worry about there lifes before judgeing others and talking about drama, grow up. And only God is to judge, And YES I CAN PROVE all this info. Need a police report? You are like "Paul Harvey" and now for the rest of the story. BUT my question would be and is Why did the 9 year old run away from the grandmother? That's it. BUT I'm glad the kids were found safe and unhurt.
