eason opening wins, the East Jackson Eagles hoped to carry momentum into their next two games.
It didn’t work out that way, however, as the Eagles fell to both Osborne and Jackson County Saturday, leaving them 2-2 overall as the season enters its third week.
Up next for East Jackson is a home stand on Friday, as they will host the Banks County Leopards at 5:30.
Banks enters play this week with a 4-2 record, still stinging from an 11-1 loss to West Hall this past Friday.
Osborne
East Jackson started its weekend with a pairing against the Osborne Cardinals in a game at JCCHS.
The Cardinals were in the midst of a four-game losing streak when they hit the field, having lost earlier in the day to Jackson County.
The Eagles seemed to be in position to win their third straight game, but left 14 runners on base against and allowing Osborne to escape with a 5-4 victory.
Jackson County
The second game of the day was a renewal of the rivalry between the Eagles and the Panthers.
Much like East Jackson, the Panthers entered the weekend in the midst of one of the strongest season starts in recent history.
