WATKINSVILLE – Joe “Bud” Garrison, 71, died Saturday, January 30, 2010.
A native of Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late Jim Edmond and Nancy Free Garrison. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War and was an avid horse and nature lover. Mr. Garrison was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jo Mathis Garrison.
Survivors include daughters, Joanne Mallory, Tracey Lee, Banna Johnson and Jennifer Garrison; sons, Don Garrison, Jimmy Garrison, Chris Lee and Lil Joe Garrison; a sister, Tommie Nell Samples; 20 grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 6, at 2 p.m., at Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday. A graveside service will be held in Cherokee, N.C. at a later date.
