An early morning fire destroyed a home in Jefferson Wednesday, but the home’s occupants escaped without injury.
The home of Bruce and Tara Simonton on Brookside Drive off of Westmoreland Ave. reportedly caught on fire around 3 a.m.
A fire alarm reportedly alerted the home’s two occupants and they were able to get out quickly.
Units from the Jefferson Fire Department, Harrisburg Fire Department, JCCI Fire Unit and North Jackson Fire Department reported to the scene.

Thank goodness for the smoke alarm working like it did. A lot more lives could be saved if fire alarms are installed and checked monthly. Hope these folks are A-ok. Sorry for some of the things they have lost like pictures but other things are replaceable
