Two residential fires were reported in Jackson County on Wednesday, Nov. 25. The residents were at home in both fires but everyone inside escaped without injuries.
Just after midnight, units from the Maysville, Commerce and Jackson County Correctional Institute fire departments responded to 463 Deer Run Drive, Maysville, to a reported residential fire. Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire showing from a 3,500 square foot single family residence with about 40 percent of the structure involved.
No injuries were reported. The home received heavy damage from fire, water and smoke. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maysville Fire Department.
At around 9 a.m., units from the Harrisburg, Jefferson and the Jackson County Correctional Institute fire departments responded to 158 Psalms Drive, Jefferson, to a reported residential fire. Firefighters found light smoke showing from a 2,200 square foot single family residence.
The fire originated in an upstairs room and was contained to the room of origin due to the quick operations of the firefighters on the scene, officials report. No injuries were reported. The home received damage from fire, water and smoke. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Harrisburg Fire Department.
