The Jefferson Dragons cross country teams traveled this past Saturday to Riverside Military Academy in preparation of the regional championships.
Despite cold, windy weather, the Dragons saw many team members, both boys and girls, put up new personal records with their times.
The boys would go on to place fifth in the event, while the girls placed third.
Trae Timmerman finished the best for the boys, placing eighth with a time of 18:34. Michael Stephenson placed 18th with a 19:20. Jake Marlowe placed 22nd with a 19:33. Matt Deremer placed 28th with a 20:01. Cannon Joiner placed 38th with a 20:26. Cole Edwards placed 44th with a 21:14.
Cara Smith was the top finisher for the girls, placing fifth with a time of 21:35. Lauren Phillips placed eighth with a 22:29. Laura Price placed 11th with a 22:46. Holly Baron placed 28th with a 26:11. Zoe Cown placed 29th with a 26:18.
The Dragons will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Riverside Military Academy to compete in the region meet.
