A booth at the Freedom Festival in Jefferson last weekend was moved after an attorney complained about it being located in front of her business.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans paid a fee for a booth during Saturday’s Freedom Festival. Booths were assigned based on those that needed electricity and were assigned at random. The group in question was randomly assigned to the space in front of attorney Shelley Cox’s office.
Jefferson city manager John Ward said that Mrs. Cox took offense at this group using the public space near her office. Jefferson Downtown Development Authority director Beth Laughinghouse asked the group to move to another location. The group then moved.

In my humble opinion from only reading the article and not knowing anyone involved: In these days of Political Correctness being taken to the extreeme, maybe Ms. Cox just didn't want to be falsly/incorrectly accused by anyone of condoning racism. It was more convenient to force your move than to have an oppurtunity to explain her own views and taking the time to understand yours.
Just another PC kneejerk reaction.
Remember the golden rule.
Why would the Sons of the Confederate Veterans have any resonance with anyone anymore?
I can tell you why:
It total racism - face it/admit it. It a form of subversive racism designed to gain power over other non-white citizens.
Where are the Sons of WWI Veterans and the Sons of WWII Veterans? It's because those two wars have nothing to do with slavery - so the racists don't care about those wars the same way.
This is a ostensibly about your ancestors, but in reality you are saying I am scared of black people and other NON-WASPS....and don't want them around.... and I want to show them who has power. We all know the "Good Ol' Boy Network" still exists today, in which these so-called "Sons" keep propagating in the name of their "beloved ancestors".
Every one of you guys that trashed her should be ashamed of yourself... and of all your misspellings.
Most you guys spell like 8th graders... really. Who with an education reading this would take you seriously if you can't communicate on a basic level?
I'm sorry, but I can't respect ignorance and I am so sick of this redneck mentality it makes my want to vomit.
