You sound like you might have a little bit of sense. However, I disagree with you on a couple of your statements. One statement that I disagree with you on is the statement on Arcade has no exemplary officers. They actually do have great officers, since the trouble is gone. They have a great chief who is a military veteran, and a great all around person. Arcade is no longer a "speed trap" since they give more over the limit than any other department in the county. 18 over to be exact. and I say this because I know these officers personally, and have dealt with them often.
Do not let past discretions from that department cloud your judgment. And to be totally honest, unless you know those officers personally, please do not make those judgments.
One other statement that I do not agree with that you had said, is the fact of meth head boyfriends. Every officer no matter where they are has to deal with that exact same thing. Oh, and by the way, there are more than just a "few" educated residents in Arcade.
I had the great pleasure of working with Sargeant Greg Maddox concerning a juvenile case. He was professional and has a masters degree. I was sorry to see him leave recently.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Sgt. Mike Adams. (I hope he's still there) He's a true gentleman.
I've met another one (can't remember his name sadly) who was also extremely professional.
Here's a clue for all police officers: Treat everyone kindly, even those who you must arrest. They might be innocent and you won't make an enemy. Your fellow officer will thank you the next time he has to deal with the same suspect. How you treat your neighbor is like planting a seed. You reap what you sow.
This is in contrast to the previous chief who sent officers out that couldn't spell, smelled of alcohol, beat their wives, stole from me, stole from the evidence locker, violated a court order, tried to pick up my under-age step-daughters, escorted my ex-wife (twice) onto my property illegally and that's only what I'm willing to share in a public forum. (Bitterness is unforgiveness. I am not bitter but my keyboard will not be silenced.)
I complain when things aren't right and I praise where praise is due. Praise is all I can do for the Arcade Police dept. since the new chief took over.
Also, I must address the wrong stereotypes of Arcade citizens in this blog, I am a graduate student and know several college grads in this town. Percentage wise, I would dare say our ratio of college grads v high-school dropouts is as high as any town in the county.
I have a question. Was the new Chief a Major under the old Chief? If so then did he condone or know of this bad behavior? Just makes me wonder about the department. The new Chief may be a good guy but how much of a blind eye did he have if what you say is true? I have met the Chief once and he seemed to be a nice guy.
Fairness begets fairness I suppose.
