After back-to-back losses to Banks County, the East Jackson Eagles came back to pick up their third region win of the season on Friday.
That win locks the Eagles into fourth in the region, and sets up their first post-season pairing.
That will come against Fannin County in a best two out of three on Friday.
Banks County
The Eagles lost a double-header Wednesday against region opponent Banks County.
The Leopards out-hit East Jackson to pick up a 17-11 victory in the first game.
Game two wasn’t even close, as Banks moved out to an early lead and pulled away to win 14-0.
Oglethorpe County
Things were different as the Eagles traveled to Lexington to face the Oglethorpe County Patriots.
It turned out to be a hotly-contested game, but in the end, East Jackson came away with its third region win of the year, 9-8. All three have come against Oglethorpe County.
The win gave East Jackson a lock on fourth in the subregion.
John Robinson picked up the win after relieving starter Nick Keyros.
“They both pitched very well,” said coach Josh Gandy.
Jefferson
The Eagles wrapped up their regular season on Monday with a pairing against the subregion champion Jefferson Dragons.
Jefferson’s leadoff batter hit a first-pitch homer to start the game, and things went down from there as the Dragons won 19-4 in five innings.
