A chase of armed robbery suspects from an incident in Franklin County went through Jackson County Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m. The chase began on I-85 with Banks County, City of Commerce, City of Jefferson and Jackson County Deputies in pursuit of a gray Infiniti.
The car eventually got off I-85 and headed south on Hwy. 129, reaching a high rate of speed of around 120 mph, according to JCSO deputies. A State Patrol helicopter was also involved in the pursuit.
The vehicle made its way to Athens, where it got on the Athens bypass and wrecked.
