It was a rough weekend for the East Jackson Eagle track and field teams at the Jefferson Relays, with the boys fifth out of eight teams participating, while the girls finished sixth of the seven teams to take part
The boys amassed 67.50 points, while the winning Westminster team had 135.50.
For the boys, Tyler Collins placed first in the high jump.
Other placers included Standrick Stephens, who placed seventh in the high jump. Zach Gilbert placed second in the triple jump. Deon Sewell placed sixth in the triple jump. Drew Hunter tied for eighth in the pole vault. Dylan Kemp finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles. Cody Hall placed eighth in the 110-meter hurdles and seventh in the 300-meter hurdles. C.J. Allen placed seventh in the 100-meter dash.
The boys placed fourth in the distance medley, third in the 4x100, second in the 1600-sprint medley, third in the 4x200, third in the 4x800 and sixth in the 4x400.
Meanwhile, the girls totaled 48.50 points, while winner Lovett scored 132.50.
Among those placing for the girls was Amanda Murphy, who placed fifth in the long jump and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Jessie Harper placed third in the high jump and fourth in the triple jump. Brooklyn Watkins placed second in the pole vault. Jenna Blackmon placed eighth in the shot put.
The girls placed fourth in the 4x100, third in the 1600 spring medley, third in the 4x200, and sixth in the 4x400.
