State troopers from the Athens post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 14 traffic crashes during January in Jackson County.

The traffic crashes resulted in 21 injuries and two traffic deaths.

Troopers from Post 32 also issued 120 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes one arrest for driving under the influence, 69 citations for speeding, 17 seat belt violations, and three child restraint violations. Troopers also issued 200 warnings.
