An Arcade man was arrested last week after he allegedly killed a kitten in front of a child. David Edward Seagraves, 31, 2570 Athens Hwy., Jefferson, was charged with cruelty to animals, cruelty to children and theft by taking.
According to witnesses, he allegedly took the kitten from the hands of an 11-year-old girl and fed it to his pit bulldog.
Seagraves bonded out on these charges and then was arrested later that same night in another incident. In this second arrest, he was charged with simple battery, simple assault and false imprisonment. This arrest resulted from an altercation with a woman near his home. This time, he was not given bond and remains in jail.
